Chiropractic Care
The Road To Recovery
Most people start chiropractic because they're suffering with an ache or pain they think we can help them with. There are generally three different roads to recover from this point.
Some may feel a little worse before getting better. This is especially true if you have a long standing health condition, have been in an auto accident or suffered other types of recent or past trauma.
Some respond quickly while most show steady progress because each visit builds on the ones before.
After an initial schedule of frequent visits, it’s time for your first progress exam where we repeat some of the tests from your first visit. This shows how you are progressing by comparing where you are with where you started.
After that, you'll have a decision to make. You'll be noticing changes, but, do you want to build on your foundation? What’s your goal?
Or, will you choose to put things back on hold? This opens the possibly of suffering a series of relapses where the pain may go away for a short time but will then return at the worst time possible.
It's your choice. You don't have to decide now, but be thinking about the implications of these choices in the days, weeks and months ahead.
We'll revisit this later, because our focus now is to get you feeling better as quickly as possible and doing the things you love to do.
Remember, health is a process, not an event. The process of correction typically takes 3 to 6 months. For some, it can be longer. This all depends on how well you stick with the plan, where you are starting from and how you respond to care.
As you learn more about where your health comes from and how chiropractic helps you stay healthy, start thinking about what you are doing to minimize physical, chemical and emotional stresses so you can enjoy optimal health for a lifetime.
