  • Go With The Flow

Have you ever experienced a moment where you were doing something so well you impressed even yourself? It could have been any activity such as a sport, a hobby, art, writing or work. Everything was flowing right and even the challenges and blips were perfect. Someone watching would have said you performed gracefully and masterfully.

It was as if you were connected to something else that was inspiring you, guiding your actions and thoughts and producing a masterpiece. In that moment you would have stopped the flow by thinking. Using effort or questioning what was happening would have unplugged you from the source and you would have just been “doing” it.

This type of experience usually happens with something you are already good at, you do regularly and consistently enjoy. It will occur in an area where you are focused, present and continually improving your ability. You and the activity actually merge and become one. Time has no relevance, you are happily absorbed and nearly impossible to distract.

At a time like this, you may notice that your body feels different. You see yourself and your world differently. You have a different awareness of body and your interaction with your surroundings. There are fewer obstacles and many more possibilities. You may suddenly have energy, strength and vitality even though you were lacking it just moments before.

This is a moment of flow. It is a moment of connection to yourself, to what you are doing and to something greater than yourself. You are not only using your mental and physical abilities. You actually tap into an intelligence that flows through you and allows you to be and perform at a level greater than you would normally expect. In this moment you perform extraordinarily.

Being in flow happens more often when you are self aware, focused in the present and competent in what you are doing. Network entrainments help people develop a better connection within themselves thereby making them more self aware and able to be in the present. Not surprisingly, people under Network care report moments of flow occurring more often.

Look for and appreciate the moments of flow in your life. Spend time in gratitude for this gift we are all capable of experiencing. The next time you are doing something you enjoy, think less, feel more, observe yourself in the moment and appreciate your greatness. If you are feeling any doubt or pressure, throw caution to the wind and go with the flow!

    Golf Safety Tips

    by Shane Clark RMT

Heading out to the golf course? Avoid injury with these helpful tips.

    Stretch Your Shoulders
Hold one arm out in front of your body. With the other arm, reach under and grab the elbow of the outstretched arm. Slowly pull the outstretched arm towards your chest until you feel a stretch in the back of your shoulder. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat 4 times per side.

    Stretch Your Wrists
Hold one arm straight out in front of you, palm up. Keep the elbow stiff. With the other hand, grab the fingers of the outstretched hand and pull them towards the floor until you feel a stretch in the forearm. Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat 4 times per side.

    Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before and after your game and carry a bottle with you on the course. Avoid consumption of alcohol.

    Be Sun Smart
Apply sunscreen before your game and re-apply regularly during play. Wear sunglasses and a hat.

Shane Clark specializes in the treatment of sports related injuries like golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow. For more stretches, contact him at
